2040 CET Transit Master Plan
Draft Transit Master Plan Being Recommended to COIC Board for Adoption
See our Latest News post (August 13, 2020) on the upcoming RPTAC and PSC meeting being held for members to recommend the Draft Transit Master Plan for consideration of adoption by the COIC Board. Public comments on the Adoption Draft are accepted through August 18, 2020!
What
Cascades East Transit (CET) is developing a regional transit master plan for Central Oregon and beginning a process to identify conceptual transit service over the next 25 years. The 2040 CET Transit Development Plan will identify near-, mid-, and long-term transit service needs for the existing service areas and areas into which CET may extend. Once developed, the 2040 Transit Master Plan will provide Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council (COIC) Board of Directors, managers, and staff a framework for providing transit and transit-related services to Central Oregon and beyond. It will be the only plan in Central Oregon dedicated to transit and is intended to be used by CET to identify new services, further policy discussions, and achieve significant progress in CET departments.
Why
The CET Development Plan will synthesize and update the existing Central Oregon Regional Transit Master Plan (2013) and the Bend Metropolitan Planning Organization’s (MPO) Public Transit Plan and Transit Corridor Land Use Assessment (2013). CET is operated by COIC and provides public transit service to Bend and the region, therefore, transit in Central Oregon will benefit from a single plan.
